People-first recovery, community by community
When disaster strikes, Hummingly stands beside communities to help them navigate not just the rebuilding of structures, but the far harder task of rebuilding lives. We partner with communities and local recovery leaders to share proven tools, guidance, and lived wisdom that ease the human journey of recovery. By focusing on people, we help disaster-affected communities recover emotionally, reconnect socially, and build resilience for the future. Explore the communities we’re honored to support and see how together, we’re making recovery more human.
Recovery efforts in action

Texas Flooding
In July 2025, Kerr County and surrounding counties, experienced devastating flash floods resulting in tragic loss of life and significant property damage. Hummingly is on hand to empower and sustain local responders through a webinar series that shares vital principles and key learnings to foster emotional recovery in communities facing profound loss.

LA Fires
The January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires caused widespread destruction, resulting in numerous deaths, significant property damage, and economic losses estimated in the billions. Hummingly’s Cards for Calamity program is helping locals navigate life after disaster. We’ve delivered “Sustaining the Supporters” workshops for local organizers, and shared practical resources to help parents and teachers guide children through recovery.

Maui Wildfires
The wildfires that devastated Maui led to the highest wildfire death toll in the United States so far this century. We’ve been supporting communities impacted by the wildfires with practical resources like Cards for Calamity to spark meaningful community conversations and foster emotional recovery, along with workshops designed to sustain and strengthen those working tirelessly on the frontlines of support.

Mayfield Graves, KY: Tornado
The Mayfield, Kentucky tornado caused widespread devastation, destroying downtown buildings, a factory, and many homes, resulting in significant loss of life. Hummingly has been supporting by providing the Cards for Calamity program—helping communities open up vital conversations, share experiences, and navigate the emotional journey of rebuilding together.

Greeley, CO: Flooding
In May 2024, a severe hailstorm and flash flooding hit Greeley—dumping over a foot of hail, inundating eastern neighborhoods, stranding vehicles, flooding homes and businesses, and tragically causing loss of life. In Greeley, we’ve worked to build recovery capacity with local service providers—equipping them to lead community conversations and support emotional recovery in the aftermath of the flooding.

Ventura, CA: Wildfire
The Mountain Fire in Ventura County burned over 1,200 acres, forced evacuations, and disrupted daily life long after the flames were contained. Through Cards for Calamity, we're supporting emotional recovery alongside the physical rebuild—helping people work through trauma so it doesn’t silently undermine family life, wellbeing, and community resilience.

The power of emotional support
For many families across Los Angeles, life changed forever when devastating wildfires swept through neighborhoods — destroying homes, disrupting livelihoods, and leaving thousands facing uncertainty and loss.
Through our partnership with Good360, Hummingly was able to step in to support: running workshops directly for parents to help them support their children’s wellbeing, providing practical resources to ease emotional recovery, and delivering workshops for local organizations working face-to-face with impacted communities. Together, we strengthened resilience not only for those who lost so much, but also for the dedicated teams supporting them through recovery.
